When We Left Earth: The NASA Missions
 (N/A)
Saw some previews in HD of this 6 show series starting Sunday night at 9 E/P. Some of the pics and videos looked awesome in HD...

Since I don't have cable, I don't get to watch this. (Boo, hoo.)  However, I lived part of this.  I joined IBM in Houston (NASA) in July, 1965 and left there in 1977, just before the first Shuttle drop test was done.  I was on a console (in IBM's part of the control center) for the first 3 unmanned Apollo missions (AS-201, 202 & 203), Apollo 1 & 9.  Yes, I was on the console the night of the Apollo 1 fire.  I was also a "back room guy" on Apollo 13.

That's awesome, James. Must have been quite the experience, being onhand for those missions.

I saw the first episode today, and have 3 more recorded. It is very well done, mostly history, but told from the perspective of and by the people that went through it. While the camera work of the Mercury flights are crude, it is still very well done.

I can probably get some .avi's of the shows if you want to check them out.
