Re: It's on it's way  (United States)

For those of you who don't know, I just got my first conroe system, an e6600 (4mb cache, 2.4ghz) with the Gigabyte DS3 motherboard and Ballistix ddr2-667 memory.  It's currently crunching away at 3.24 ghz, and it looks like it's going to chew through wus at an amazing rate.  It's crunching it's first 2 wus that started on the conroe right now, so hopefully tomorrow morning I'll be able to see what kind of times this demon will turn in.

Time to get some sleep now, will report back tomorrow

This is Mine running at 2.7Ghz (and only been crunching a little over 4 days):

So, Xaaks at 3.24Ghz, will be smoking my times [EMO]indifferent.gif[/EMO]

start here:  http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/results.php?hostid=2554646&offset=80

There are some wus both before and after, but those are some of the longer ones I've run.  The older wus are done on a D running at 3.6ghz.  Around noon yesterday, I upped the memory from 720 to 900mhz, the times don't seem to have changed dramatically.

Re: It's on it's way  (United States)

found something interesting.

The conroe has no advantage in Rosetta. In fact it actually crunches slower than my Pentium D's [EMO]crying.gif[/EMO]

Re: It's on it's way  (United States)
Rosetta doesn't work the way other projects do.  Times mean nothing in and of themselves, the credits/wu is what makes a difference, and that's based on the number of models completed during the fixed time run.
