Installed Raistmer's opt_pack_v10a. Astropulse not running any faster, Cuda profile for 9800GT card not showing. Not sure on Cuda as there appears to be no WU available, but none downloaded yesterday

Currently there are no multibeam available. they say its a week long outage. Either run APs on your CPU or get the gpugrid/ps3 video card app running until seti is back in business

I'm a bit confused regarding running optimised AP together with CUDA. Having checked out the top computers at Berkeley it seems possible. The question is how to do it?
Having recently acquired a new i7 920 system, I'm quite keen to boost my RAC. It is running 64bit Vista, with a CUDA capable card (CUDA was running when I installed the basic apps). However, after installing the optimized apps, it no longer runs CUDA. How can I fix this?
Finally, is it true that you cannot run CUDA if you run another project in BOINC on the same system?
TIA,
FD.

you'd need to run raistmers cuda combo pack which runs the optimized and cuda at the same time or you can download the developmental(beta) version of BOINC that allows them to run side by side and just install the lunatics astropulse/multibeam optimized app. they have full discussions on installs and such on the Seti numbers crunching forum

http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/forum_thread.php?id=52212That's the main thread of relevance. Try to stick with the current BOINC version and not a development build for now, although 6.6.x is due out next week. It's just a matter of getting the files in the right directories, the optimized stuff and app_info in the setiahome data folder, and the cc_config in the boinc folder (the one that contains the setiahome folder). I'm not all that up on Cuda so I'm not sure about running other projects, other than that if another project kicks into a higher priority mode Cuda might starve.

Raistmer's V10 team mods were designed as a workaround for Seti to run cuda and MBs and APs at the same time. It is true it doesn't play nice with other projects as it was designed specifically for SETI.

Thanks K, Given that a new BOINC version is out next week I think I will wait. After all the system still has 8 cores crunching away!

You'll still need to optimize though. Give the team mod a try. It will still do things the regular BOINC can't do, like dropping the vlar WU's from Cuda (they take way too long). I think for now you could run GPU Grid on Cuda though. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong.

I have installed GPUgrid. However, it does use one of the CPU cores, as well as the GPU.

The seti pack to run GPU will probably fuck up running other projects.
GPUGRID alone should be running all 8 cores plus the gpu. The 8 cores on another project.
I havn't gotten into the seti gpu thing yet because it is to much of a pain in the ass.

This is why I have been reticent to run SETI GPU. Greeri wrote GPUGRID alone should be running all 8 cores plus the gpu. The 8 cores on another project.
At present, 7 cores are crunching SETI AP/MB and one core plus the gpu is crunching GPUGRID. Greeri wrote I havn't gotten into the seti gpu thing yet because it is to much of a pain in the ass.
I agree!
