Thanks, Ron. A day late, though. :( Sunday I made up a cd with all BOINC/Seti stuff I had, and have been updating some machines at the warehouse, also at my brother's, since it was time to do some housekeeping on his box. I knew once I started on this, someone would release a new version, always happens.... I really was expecting 5.17 and Chicken's optimized version to be released any time now. No word on the beta boards on a timeline for release, it's been in beta testers hands for several months, though.

Chicken's C2D app (United States)

Running Chicken's new app for Core 2 Duo clients, and noticed this morning that under Manager/tasks/application it shows setiathohome_enhanced 5.17... wonder what gives with that?

I do know that the new Seti app has been in beta for a couple months, from the message boards there is no imminent release announced as of yet....

Funny, on the Core2Duo I only have 5.17 WUs but on the AMD64 I still only have 5.15 ! [EMO]Confused Gallery/confused-smiley-003.gif[/EMO]

Here's something from Chicken's forum, I compiled this from a couple of posts by Simon-

What you're experiencing is a direct result of you crunching Beta as well as the main project. Beta thinks 5.17 is the app you need, and BOINC seemingly cannot distinguish between the Beta and the standard app right now.

That's entirely normal -

I included an updated app_info.xml in the 2.0 releases because there remain some problems with 5.4.x and prior BOINC versions when you run both the Beta and the main project for SETI. Thing is, if you do not include a 5.17 entry for those hosts, they will just error out a lot of WUs and make people very unhappy Wink

So BOINC now thinking your app version being 5.17 and requesting WUs for that version is normal, and quite okay. For the moment, the main project does not send out any WUs that cannot be processed by 5.15 in any case.
