I thought you could just change your alias. I think there's an option for that in the user settings

kemp wrote I had to unregister as johnnybe to match my Seti name change. That killed all posts under my old forum name. They're gone. I think it could be a good idea to keep the posts of any member here even the unregistered, if possible.

Unfortunately, if you unregister, it kills off all of your main account info, and orphans your Forum records, which makes the post look anonymous.  Problem is, the forums are set for no anonymous posters, so it causes problems when it tries to render the thread.

I was able to move one of your old posts to your new ID, and I'm not quite sure what I'm going to be able to do yet about other unregistered users.  One more thing to jam into the to-do list
