I like the new layout on the front page with some of the forum comments

Same here. Have to scroll to reach the other side. Maybe something new was added to make the home page margins go out of wack.

This could be the problem:

It may go to far across the screen. May need to be shortened up a little to make the home page back to normal.

Actually, the problem right now it is with "Latest Forum Topics". The images and bodies of the posts are coming through, where there should probably just be a short test highlite, or just the thread topic with a link..

Seeing the blown up pages too. Thought it was just me till I saw this.

Outside of the above I think the front page is awesome. Really like it. Great job!
