meh. Team and Starfire got divorced? Too much whitespace between words. And how did 'e' in "Team" get under the 'T'? (Can't do that with physical type...been typesetting since '63.)

Since it was mentioned, I looked back, and this is it! (tswb_logo12.jpg) I see no more reason to match our stuff with their logo now, than there was before.

Ed: Looking again, I think we'd be losing our team identity to look like, uh, Berk? eeewwww Also only approximated their logo, flattening the life out of it at the same time.

TSW should be different then boinc but me thinks we need something new i do like the spinning globe!

While you do make a couple of valid points, perhaps you go too far back with your experience? I can't see your version at all. doesn't flow at all for me. Too dissimilar. Looks like it was just tossed together, an amatuer team logo tossed together with a more polished logo. And that was why I stayed out of the original logo discussion, as it just wasn't polished enough for me.

We don't have a professional designer here. Boog has done a great job, IMO, and I do like the logo to flow with Berkeley's. After all, we are but a team of BOINC'ers, are we not? Makes no difference to me, as far as looking like Berk, as you say, as both logos are side by side with the BOINC logo.

Anywho, to me, given the choices you give, #4 animated is a great step forward.

30 is kinda cool but the font sizes don't seem right or properly placed or something. What if we changed the colour of "Team Starfire World"? I still have a preference for #4 as was presented with the spinning globe.

Ok, I worked on a couple ideas from this setup, but I am starting to run out of ideas. My next step may just to be to try to make a design for us separate from the boinc logo, then maybe we could put the boinc logo or the "powered by boinc" logo somewhere on the page.
