When we get a hold of Kosh we will change the link at the Seti site.

Thanks,

As soon as someone comes on that can I am sure we can make that happen. I unfortunately do not have that power.

The picture seems to be back to normal now, I'm glad..

I was very disappointed in whoever changed it in the first place. Granted BBR should have found a new site to host the pic, and deleting it may have been an appropriate action, but changing it was too much.

Kosh has hosted the original pic at dslr's gaming servers this morning.

When I woke up, read what had happened, I was pretty ticked off, too. Even though the pic pretty accurately describes the goings on there, heavy handed mods, DCS rules and regulations as of late, it still was a mean spirited thing to do.

However, as it turns out, it was done late at night,  lashing back after a thread was deleted where we were posting, waving as we passed DSLR in Seti RAC. Tit for Tat, it seems. AFAIK, the posts were tame in nature, something that has been done regularly by many teams in the past.

Still, we have left DSLR, and now we are no longer welcome there because of an ill-thought out retaliation. Nothing will be said about the heavyhanded modding, though....

The bottom line is it shouldn't have been done.  They were showing their hand every day now they have something that was beneath the members here to use against us.  Lets forget about BBR and focus on us.  We have already shown we are the better team in more ways than one.

Paul, that's pretty much what happened.  At the time, I felt a statement needed to be made, and since the mods over there and their ilustrious leader feel they are beyond criticism, well, it's pretty much like Orwell's famous novel, 1984.

Looking back in hindsight, while I regret the action, I don't regret the sentiment it conveyed.  That sentiment is accurate.

I agree 100%.  I thought we left there for a reason, well its time to really leave.  If they want to mod posts, it is thier forum, not ours.

Man you guys get a little to full of yourselves sometimes, it was funny as hell and well deserved. They leave the largest picture on their busiest pages on our site come on.  :) You can't convince me they didn't know and personally should of left it there until they fixed there posts, sites and everything else.

As for the content, to true and funny as hell. As for the staying out of there, when they quit lying and making disparaging remarks about the poeple who basically put that site back together from nothing, bad links, FAQs, no members posting. Then maybe we should consider there point.

Now is any of this in anger, no, I am still laughing about it and will be for awhile. You should do the same and quit getting sucked into their thats so wrong BS, heard enough of it last night and I ain't buying it. They do not like it, tough fix your site and quit whining cause you didn't do something that should have been done a month ago.

Now for  coffee

Well, I really didn't like seeing that when I got home for work. Deserved? Perhaps, but we are better than that. Much better. The actions of the leaders of BBR DC should speak much louder than any action we take, but this succeeded in being very much louder, and not in a good way.

On a side note, it's really too bad that BBR SETI's actions now go unnoticed due to thread deletion. You will find none of that nonsense here.

People quickly seem to forget those who did the footwork when change was threatening what was a great team. Outcast in hopes of their demise, angered on seeing their success away from home. The Team Starfire which emerged from the wreckage of the transition to BOINC resides here now, embracing all that BOINC has to offer. What is left there is a SETI@Home club. Nothing more, not enough but all that BBR management will allow. There were reasons we chose to leave and every day those reasons are further entrenched by those who took over.

Welcome to the TSWB!

Simply put, disagreement between some people, agreement to split, after one stupid action causes another stupid action, and all hell breaks loose, things quiet down, all parties agree to let it go and move on with life as it should be and now just in a healing mode to let all bad feelings quiet down and hopefully forgot at some time in the far future.

There are more deatils, but I don't care to know them and don't think thier relavent. Lifes too short to focus on ill things. :)

Basically we wanted to do what we are doing here.  All BOINC projects under one name.  DCS and management didn't like the idea so we split and this is what was created.  The best BOINC team around!

Oh, the picture? Good read at BBR if you like. Well, not good, but it's there to read if you want. Oh, welcome to TSWB.

Wasn't as pleasant as Logix makes out... but Sat_Man laid out the main points quite well.
