TWSB's 1st ever podcast on Firday 1/26/07 - Need Topic Suggestions
(United States) Modified By L0GiX on 1/25/2007 4:44:08 PM)

I'd like to schedule the 1st podcast for this Friday 1/26/07 at 9pm EST on Skypecast. If this is not a good time please reply here so we can find a better time.

To join, go to this link: https://skypecasts.skype.com/skypecasts/skypecast/detailed.html?id_talk=310838&hash=357eb58939fdd7b4636a

You will need a Skype account to join and I would suggest a good headset or dedicated microphone. Before logging in shutdown any processing heavy application or any application that uses bandwidth. This will create a better sounding podcast for the recording.

Please understand that this will be recorded for possible publication as the TWSB's 1st Podcast.

We will need some topics we can discuss during the podcast, so I invite everyone to suggest topics. The topics could cover anything from BOIC Projects, Hardware OC'ing, to news covering the different projects. Everyone is invited to the podcast. We will work through the logistics of how it will work out at that time.

If this is still going ahead for tonight is it possible to just listen in and not be apart of the conversation?

Yes of course.

Just mute your microphone.

I'll also have a separate IRC channel open that I'll announce in the podcast for people to text back and forth.

Well at first thought it sounded interesting. Still does, but I don't know what a podcast is, actually and think that Skype is some internet phone thingie... I plead dumb here, and didn't have the inclination to research and set up yet another application and assorted hardware, TBH.

Perhaps if someone would feel inclined to explain just what we're doing here, it might generate some more interest?

Hey Paul, Skype is an internet phone, it is free to download and use to call other skype users, and you can upgrade to be able to have a "real" phone number to accept incoming, and make outgoing calls to real phones (for $$).

A podcast is normally just an mp3 (not sure as what format is going to be used here), so it should be downloadable by anyone, but if you have an iPod, you can "subscribe" and whenever there is a new "episode" iTunes will download it when you open it and will automatically sync with the iPod.
