MilkyWay@home  (Canada)
So they've sent out a few Windows test WU's and I got 2 on my main rig. The first ran for almost 8 hours and then stalled - 0 CPU, 0 progress. Suspending and then restarting did nothing. Restarted BOINC and both WU's errored out. Too bad they haven't seen fit to get their forums working so we can give them feedback.

Re: MilkyWay@home  (United States)

Milkyway@home boards came up recently and this was added today. Interesting post on the goal of the project.

Floodgates opened tonight. Around 7000 WU's released. Very fast running though.

work is flowing and the project has added a host limit so more people can get work.

some of the new WUs will stall a cpu when it errors so keep an eye on your machines if you are crunching for these guys.

Re: MilkyWay@home  (Canada)
I had a couple of stuck downloads I just finally aborted. Think they were stuck for close to a day. Not the first time though. Last time it cleared itself up after a few hours.

Re: MilkyWay@home  (United States)

I got a bunch of weird terminations with their 1.07 app.  Exit with 0 condition and not output file.  I can't see that I didn't get credit, but the messages advised to reset the project.  I did, and don't expect to see work until after the 16th when my "remaining" wu become overdue.

Arrrrggghhhhh! (No, that's not pirate talk!)

I decided to sign up for this one. I'm a sucker for space projects.

I saw MilkyWay@Home and thought, "Damn, I've got a bag of them from Halloween." :)

If you can't beat'em, join'em. Then beat'em.
