What about Formula Boinc? Is there any chance we can improve our position?

I'd say we have to few members to be worried about stretching them over all the BOinc projects.

Re: Formula Boinc

Actually we could do lot better on some of the smaller projects without hurting ourselves at all. I think we should start a rally to see if we can get into the top ten on this.

Thats 34 points and I have a plan hehehe so if you want to do it heres the idea,
Those that have multiple machines need to commit at least one machine to the racing (or a % ).
Those with one machine can commit 10% or more.
We make a list of those that want to and break them into different teams.
then we have each team crunch projects that we can pick up points on quickly.
We will have goals and a little competition but mostly we can make the top 10 we only need 34 points right now. we allready have 9.

I like this plan, some Team spirit, some Team effort, and we can kick a little butt and have some fun.

Who knows we might even get to number 9 or 8

A little coordination is what would be required. That and spreading the CPU power around a bit. Saw this a little while back. Still not sure how often they award points though once a team has achieved a position.

I'm down for this, I can put a couple core 2's on it, just let me know what project.

It might be harder than you think to get more points.
Actually i was surprised to see we had 9 points.

Looks like they took Pirates@Home out of their listings which dropped us way down the list.

OK the rankings are cheesy to me. Seems that a group can get in early on a small project eat through all the WU's available and then just sit on the top. That and these projects are so small that the credits vs. Seti are tiny yet they award a 10 for smaller projects as well as large ones

Yes and no, a project has to produce 1,000,000 wus to count and it is for fun. Do not get to serious about it. the small projects can give small teams a chance to get some points.

Just do not blow off the regular BOINC crunching for it.

not saying bail on BOINC what I am saying is that type of contest forces a smaller group such as ours to basically pick 5-7 small projects and excel at all of them. We clearly arent into that and those type of stats are really a waste of effort for us.
