I've moved almost all of my boxes over to Rosetta now.  Plus, I've put a new Quad Core Xeon Colvertown server to the cause, with another one due to come online on Friday (hopefully).   We need some more long term help to keep from getting stomped.  How about it guys?  Let's turbocharge this project!

Re: A little help for Rosetta

Hey Xaak, what speed did you get on that quad?  I am thinking about putting together a dual quad colvertown and would be interested to see how the peformance is for you.

Good luck to you guys on Rosetta

Re: A little help for Rosetta

I got the 1.6's.  They'll be running the database server and web server for this site (and the rest of my business) once I switch everything over to the new servers.

Rosetta performance for the quad is running around 1100/day for the first 24 hours, about the same as for an overclocked e6400 conroe.  Seti should get you with optimized clients around 2100 per 1.6 quad.  And it runs pretty cool.  Mine's around 44c under full load.

I hope this helps .

It won't be much, but I can get 2 p3-600s over to Rosetta later on tonight hopefully if they cooperate with me.

If you can't beat'em, join'em. Then beat'em.

They got server #2 up and running early.

If you're curious, here they are:

Had a conroe go down for a day or two, but that's back up too.  One or two more D's to come shortly...

I can't afford the uHaul to move to clovertown next door of you xaak, but I am saving up for a vacation this summer at bearlake.  :)

To the team:

I've moved 4 P3 SSE boxes over to Rosetta this afternoon.

We may not be crunching for a cure here at Team Starfire, but at least we know the work our computers do may help the scientists and researchers to one day unlock the secrets allowing them to create cures for disease.

Nice to see the extra firepower added to our Rosetta@Home team, and it all contributes to our overall BOINC standings, currently 14th in the world by RAC. Pretty incredible for a team that pretty much started from scratch last summer.

Yep, while we are open about our desire to stomp someone, it's nice to see teams that are forever looking down their noses at teams that like stats, do exactly that. Oh, the noble, search for a cure teams that care nothing, nothing at all about stats!!! Pretty rich..... sounds like politicians, if you repeat something in public over and over, no matter if it's true or not, the average person will believe it anyway....

Man, I'm loving this! Their PM system has been getting rather overloaded over this, can't have all this in public, now can we...

Indeed, we have come a long way in a very short period of time.   Oh and BTW I will be adding my new E6600 to the Rosetta Team in short order!

What do you mean "we may not hold them off"?

We are Team Starfire World BOINC!

We can do anything we put our minds and resources to.  So let's move a few more boxes over and kick some hypocrite butt!

Re: A little help for Rosetta

According to BOINCSynergy, we did 32,705 in the last 24 hours compared to their 29,319.

Great job so far, Team Starfire World BOINC ROX!

But don't let that make us comfortable, they have a call out and we need to boost our numbers even more.
