Important News 8.15.06
(United States) Modified By m00kie on 8/16/2006 6:23:09 AM)

From their front page:

The last of the bprion work units should go out today. After that there will be a down time while we implement new methods of protein structure prediction. Thank you for your support in this project and we look forward to working with you again.

Looks like they'll be down for an indeterminate period.

edit: perhaps the remaining Predictor users would consider turning their CPU's to Rosetta@Home? We could use your help :)

I can only please one person a day. Today is not your day... tomorrow isn't looking too good either.

OMG! Someone is alive at Predictor! And we all thought they were just ignoring their volunteer base.

I have to admit, I have never been impressed with this project.  It seemed to me to be only a matter of time before it went on hiatus or shut down.  They have ignored their base as you have pointed out, but if you also look at their results in the CASPs they have been involved in it doesn't appear that their methods are too effective either.  I have to admit that this may be the first project I could remember where I felt like the cycles for it could be put to much better use on other projects.
