Artificial Intelligence System
 (Canada)
AIS is looking for more participants.

Over the past 24 hours there have been 2541 Windows and 131 Linux work units processed successfully. Each work unit for version 1.07 is generating 200,000 neurons.

That is a total of 534,400,000 neurons. One month should give us a total of 16 billion neurons. To reach the 100 billion level we would either need close to 6 months with the current computer levels or more machines.

We decided to speed up the the addition of new participants and machines. We started advertising on Google a couple of days ago and we already got over 1,000,000 ad impressions.

There are two minor issues that we are looking to fix for this version: the suspend/resume computation error and the floating point exception (i.e. process got signal 8).

We are also getting help with the forum moderation. If some other participants would like to step up and help new participants as they post messages, that would be great. We no longer have the time to cover all the bases.

We will release over the next weeks an image that presents in a snapshot what we want to achieve, so that potential participants can understand quickly if the project falls within their interests.

If someone else is interesting in advertising the project he/she should feel free to do that. We will also continue to do that.

Well, like a few of us who like to run check out new projects, I tried it out, when they went open beta. Still a bit buggy for me, even with the new app. Since this is a for profit company, not quite sure what their goals are or contracts would be, I think I'll let it go for now.

It certainly raise some questions, though, like are we ready for AI as a race? There does seem to be good minds working on it, nothing new there. I just can't imagine how much hardware would be required to simulate even rudimentry AI.

Then again, we could be in on the ground floor of SkyNet... glasses.gif

I think I'm going to let it go for now too, although 1.07 seems pretty good.

What are people's opinions about for-profit projects like this?  I don't really like that.

"I think we're on the verge of a major climate shift. The government has to start making long term preparations now."
"Jack, all you have is a theory."
"Well then give me the mainframe and let me prove it!!!"

I' about done with AIS. 9/10 of my work is declared invalid. That seems to be an excessive amount of wasted CPU time

If it's for profit, I want my cut of any $$ made and re-imbursement for expenses(or at least a way to write it off my taxes).
