how significant is the difference between 32 and 64 bit on the same machine when working on PSP sieve wu's? just wondering if I should bother installing a 64 bit OS on my new machine as a dual boot

Will a lowly 3.2 GHz P4 contribute enough work for the team to be worth setting up PrimeGrid on it? Also, how long do the WUs run?

The psp wu's a fairly short in comparison to wu's from other projects. If I had to guess, I'd guess that you would probably do a little better than 1 wu per hour, probably closer to 40 min. Credit per wu 28.56, not awesome, but not total crap.
easiest way to find out the actual stat would be to go create an account there, change the settings to PSP wu's only and then attach your client. Crunch a handful a find out. [EMO]Devil Gallery/devil-smiley-015.gif[/EMO]

I signed up and joined the team. It downloaded a wad of WUs, with estimates ranging from 20 to 70 minutes. I've got another project that I want to clean out, then I'll turn them loose and see what the actual run times are.
I'll need to make sure the queue is empty before 1300 CDT on 4/29 and turn it loose shortly after that. It's probably going to be a mad rush to get WUs. Are their servers up to the challenge?

bah the 64 bit version of win7 i installed doesn't seem to be stable... [EMO]indifferent.gif[/EMO]
correction, seems to be chugging along today, don't know why it mystery rebooted last night. looks like the actuall difference between win7-32bit and win7-64bit is 41 minutes and 26 minutes per psp wu, respectively.

My PrimeGrid queue is empty and ready for filling in 21 hours and 25 minutes. E@H is going to have to sit on the side and watch for a couple of days.

The Showers to Flowers Challenge
make sure PSP Sieve (Prime Sierpinski Problem (Sieve) is the only project selected on your Prime Grid Preferences page, don't cache any wu's, connect after 1PM Central today. Only wu's downloaded and completed in the allotted time count.
And yes, their servers are well up to the challenge, James.

Just when I lined up 7 X64 quads for the challenge, I noticed Malaria Control has started generating work again. So I'm bowing out of this challenge.

Malaria can wait 2 days.
I've got PrimeGrid running on 2 machines, neither near as fast as your machines.
