Some news  (United States)

All.

We're moving!  I've been clearing out the cache for a while now planning for this move.  We should be in our new place by mid June, and then build everything back up.  Not sure how many crunchers I will put back online, but I will aim for 100%.  Space is tight, but it's about the same amount of space we have now, just in a mold free environment.

Secondly, I got a new job!  It's about 10 minutes from our new place.  What a relief.  Pay is good, not the best, but the commute is ideal.

Best wishes everyone.  See you all in a few weeks hopefully.  I will have limited access to the net and email.

Regards,
bb

Excellent news on both parts! Being close to work can be a great thing too.

Agree 100%. Congrats on both counts, I know you're glad to get out of that house!

As I get older, I value my time more than a few dollars.  I'm usually pretty close to work, and the van is 8 years old with  93K on it. Spending time driving just isn't worth it.

I see your crunchers coming back online, so I assume things are going well!

What are you stalking me!?

Hehe.. I was going to make the announcement last night but had to go.  We are all moved in.  It was supposed to take just one day, I had about 7 or 8 fellas helping.  Well long story short, it took us about 3 1/2 days to completely get everything out of the old  place and into the new.  Had to even take Monday off due to this whole thing.  I got the important stuff unpacked first, crunchers, guitars, etc... Next comes my wifes stuff!  :)

Yes, crunchers we 100% back up late last night.  Thanks for noticing!

See you all soon on IRC.

Best Regards,

Jason

When we moved into this house it took several weeks. Two and a half years later we still aren't done unpacking!

Oh jeez, the very thought of moving depresses me! ;) It was bad enough the last time we did it, 8 years ago, I'm really hoping we won't do it again.

I'm guessing you have accumulated a ton of stuff since your last move? Always seems like twice as much as the last time... But anyway, glad to see you out of that old place, hope everyone is feeling better.

Re: Some news  (United States)

Yeah, we had so much stuff that couldn't come with us, so we had to put in on the front curb.  It filled out entire lot out front.  Bedroom set, a couple of dressers, entertainment center.  We tried to sell it off, but nobody was biting, so we trashed them.  On Monday morning, the garbage men passed our old house completely.  Got everyone elses things, their trash cans were empty down the entire street but ours.  So, I had to contact 1800got-junk to haul it away.  They quoted me $600!  Immediately as I hung up with one of their sales people, the garbage truck comes around the corner.  I waived them $20 bucks!  Guy was hesitant, but went for it.  I gave him another $15 to help me haul the heavy bed into the garbage truck.  All gone!

We do not plan on staying here for more than 2 years.  I'm hoping one year tops, but you all know how time slips away.  We are trying to save up for a single family home in Yardley or Newtown PA.  This townhome is nice but no basement and not that much storage, however, there isn't any maintenance, so no lawn mowing, snow shovling, etc.  There is a pool and basketball courts, etc for the kids.  It's great and I think well stay for now... At least we got rid of a lot of things, and I'm liking not having so much to tie my family down for when we do this again in 2 years..
