Hi again all...finally got back into Seti after just over a two year layoff. With that I have some new machines that are coming online and am curious what I can do to maximize my results. One has a Core 2 Quad and a GTS 250, the second is a Core i7 with a Geforce 7300GT then an assortment of various other machines I have. Any general tips/tricks would be great.

Thanks!

for GPU crunching your 7300 won't work. the 250 will. If you run vista or 7 and you want to run the GPU cruncher then you'll need to make sure you don't install BOINC in protected mode. after installing boinc I'd get the Lunatics unified installer. it makes installing optimized apps easy.

for AMD 32 bit sse CPUs http://calbe.dw70.de/2.4V/2.4V_Windows_x32_SSE_FFTW.zip this works faster than the alex khan version.

other than that happy crunching and welcome back

Looking at this I'm rather impressed by the GPU performance on WU's wasn't expecting it to burn through them like it does.. Will have the i7 compy up soon. Will be curious how it performs since my previous point of reference are old P4 2.6 cpu's.

Cuda does pretty well on Seti but its slower than ATI on MW and Collatz
