After much nagging by some, I have joined.  Not that I wasn't a member - I've been crunching Einstein for TSWB from day one.  I was just lazy about signing up for the site... hell I was cruising DSLR for about 6mo before I signed up oh so many moons ago.  Just wanted to say Hi :)

Yep, nagging works "sometimes".  Depends on the attitude of the naggie.

Glad to see you finally succumbed.

Welcome to the team to all those who followed me!

Stick a fork in me! I'm done! I'm slidding in with both feet, a cold beer in one hand, a hot blonde on the other and yelling "YeeHaw! What a ride!"

A FLea can be nagged?

I suppose I should officially join the team. I've started up BOINC again, this time trying out Rosetta@Home. Nice to have a unified  Boinc team.

What is the difference between this team and the "BroadbandReports.com Team Starfire" team ?

Is there a reason why you split the team ?

I'll quote myself from another thread that this question was asked.

"Basically we wanted to do what we are doing here.  All BOINC projects under one name.  DCS and management didn't like the idea so we split and this is what was created.  The best BOINC team around! "

Crystallize, you couldn't ask for a better team.  We are setting records every day.  Remember that what you see here is only two months old!   All I can say is give us a try.  Jump on in and join us, I think you'll find a nice home here.

BroadbandReports.com Team Starfire is a focused team on space sciences, as that is what that site's management wanted it to be. We wanted to be a BOINC team, so TSWB was born and you'll notice that most of the members here were once there. It was a real mess as splits generally are, but for the better in the end. Relationships between the 2 teams are not cordial at the moment unfortunately.

Edit: Forgot to welcome you to TSWB! Hi! Nice to see familiar names rediscovering Team Starfire.

Ok, now at least I know the answer to that question,
I had hope it was more because of, like earlier I felt that BBR was more of a US only team, also because they shared the forum with other people than BOINC users.
Since you have to admit, BOINC users in general are more International than others. At least I think so.

That was one of the reasons I choose you, you where nr.7 in Credit/day when I checked at BoincStats.com and I'll be matching the best of you in crunching power and I'm currently in 17th place in TSWB total credit.

I'll already jumped in, I kind of had to make a quick decision, so my precious credits wont go to waste...

I can believe that it's not ...

Hm, I have some problems viewing the forum with FireFox though... and I can't insert the forum smilies.

The "World" part of the name is really because we don't want to be a one country, or one continent team. A BOINC team for the world. We always felt we had a bit of that, but hopefully more so that here since we embrace all things BOINC.

As for Firefox, yes, the forum does have issues with it. I've learnt to live with most of those bugs though, and there are some smilie shortcuts that work.

In a pinch I'll use IE.
