Dead?  (United States)

It appears that Ralph is dead or, at least, dormant. BOINC manager is complaining about not being able to make contact. So, I was going to Detach the project, but that option is grayed out. How con I detach it? Or, would it be OK go just go through the BOINC Data folder and remove all references to Ralph?

Re: Dead?  (United States)
I bet if you just remove the Ralph folder from your BOINC folders then restart the BOINC manager you'd get rid of the Ralph listing

Re: Dead?  (United States)
I removed every reference to Ralph in the BOINC_Data folder. The other stuff seems to be running just fine.

Thanks for the confirmation as to what I should do.

Re: Dead?  (United States)
I'm still finding places that Ralph is referenced. It still keeps coming back. I've just removed more references. It's alive!

Re: Dead?  (United States)
So is it actually showing up in your boinc manager or is it just registry lines

Re: Dead?  (United States)
No registry entries. There were entries in some of the control files in the BOINC_DATA folder. I had to do a "find this string within a file" type of search to find all the entries.

Since the RALPH web site seems to be down, I can't get into it and "deregister". Also, for some reason, BOINC Manager won't let me "detach" from the project.

It's now been over a week without showing its ugly little head. So, maybe it will stay in the grave this time.
