We use them at work and they're not as tough as you would expect them to be.. screen on one shattered from a drop off of a hood of a vehicle. Nickname at work is the Wussbooks.

I have a very different impression of the Toughbooks, I have been buying them for several years and I can say they are very tough. I suspect some abuse in the above comment, we have had them dropped, spilled and crashed/smashed.. They always come through and the support is very fast, we can get them back from service within 36 hours. I will be buying some more next year, still deciding what to get for our FD, they seem to hurt them more than the PD.

We use the 19 series, though I believe these are not quite what we should be using. We do abuse them, but not intentionally (EMS is just a rugged occupation). I think next time around we may spec out the 30 series or look at another company just to test out their "Rugged" laptops and see how they survive against my mischievous group.
