"hidden" computers  (United States)
Why does the Rosetta@home line show my computers as "hidden" - they aren't hidden in Rosetta!

Hey! Welcome aboard!

I wouldn't sweat it--change it to hidden and back until it shows (or not) to your liking.

Minor glitches and slow updates to information like this are all over BOINC projects.  I changed one team logo this morning, and the new logo didn't show up until this evening.  Go figure... [EMO]Cool Gallery/cool-smiley-008.gif[/EMO]

Hmm, I don't remember hiding my computer on any project I've joined - how do I go about un-hiding them?

Default is to show. However, go to this page, click "Edit Rosetta@home preferences" and adjust you settings there by checking "yes" for "Should Rosetta@home show your computers on its web site?".

Oh, BTW, welcome to TSWB.

Re: "hidden" computers  (Netherlands)
LoL for me the other way around i don't want boinc to show my hosts.
But whatever i do on every project they keep showing on the stats.

So i guess once showed to these stats sites you not really can hide it anymore.
Now why did i had to show my hosts... since some admins ask you to open them to see the result errors .....

I think the problem is that the stats engines have a way too long memory on things ;)
Which is sometimes good but in this case not so good

I can only think of a few reasons to hide a PC when doing BOINC projects. The big one is PCs on an sensative network or corporate network

Another reason is a friend who loves to brag.
He says he runs only 1 computer and beats me at all projects.
Now ofcourse i know he was not telling the truth, its impossible to beat me with a dual core E6600 while i am running a quad core amd so i do the same as him.
Hide my machines and tell him i just run 1 computer :D
And the second reason is that i don't want anyone from the crappy team i left to know what i run.

P.S he is still in the old team
