Shutting down the Stats site (N/A)

I'll be shutting down the stats site in the next couple weeks. I hope everyone enjoyed it while it lasted.

It was good while it lasted and certainly worth a try, but certainly was not a small task to handle. Thanks for keeping it going this long Gary!

So was it the cost monetarily, or was it a combination of both time and money?

Money. Huge ammounts of bandwidth (downloading the stats feeds and the stats website itself), electricity, software licenses, hardware maintenance and upgrades.

Oh, well, as they say .... all good things ... ?

Well, it's not like I've been around a lot lately either to check up on things,
but honestly, the fuel has gone out of SETI and Boinc also ...

... once up on a time, every body was playful and hopeful.

Nowadays everybody is going on fumes at best, no news of interest from the SETI
founders of the projects future or development, it's like it's all just died out ...

They claiming it to be a lack of fundings, but to be honest, it must have been to a lack of interest really ...

I just keep crunching because I always have ... and I always will, as long as SETI@home exist ...
... but I'm neither hopeful or enthusiastic nowadays ...

A number of people have contacted me thru the stats site and I've put a donation button back up. If you're interested in getting the stats site back up and running, that's the place to start.
