64 bit vs. 32 bit  (United States)
I must admit, for pure crunching, 64 bit BOINC clients are usually somewhat to a lot faster than 32 bit. Back a couple years ago I didn't bother with 64bit OS'es, mainly because of the minor irritants like some software had yet to be tweaked to run on a 64bit OS. Most notably, any of the VNC variants (for me, anyway)

A few years ago there was just a handful of projects that made use of 64bit OS, but as time goes on more, and more projects spend a bit more time taking advantage of it. Just today I noticed 2 of my warehouse rigs basically the same config on Prime Grid PSS wu's, 64 bit in 11:20, 32bit in 19 minutes. A big difference...

I've nbeen meaning to install XP 64 on most of the warehouse fleet, looks like PrimeGrid has convinced me now is the right time to switch. Still considering my main rig, it would have been nice to run Quickbooks on it, but not that big a deal.

Re: 64 bit vs. 32 bit  (United States)
my understanding is that most projects aren't helped by the 64 bit process.  primegrid is working with some really big numbers so I'd assume it would get a boost from 64 bit.
