dvd encoding and BOINC  (United States)
Today I decided to do some encoding, had a bunch of dvd's I wanted to convert to .avi for storage. Decided to use AutoGK, which is very popular for that task, and free. Running Win7 64, I had problems at first. Couple things did the trick, first was run AutoGK in admin mode, Scott confirmed that any apps it uses encoding will also be run as admin. Queued up more dvd's, let it run for a couple hours, hardly no progress. Shutting down BOINC solved that, as both BOINC and AutoGK are low priority apps, designed to run in the background.

With BOINC out of the way, it'd ripping right through the dvd's, so all is good.
