No real bugs, I've been overall happy with it once I got used to where stuff was.  Sometimes it was annoying, like finding where the "run" start menu item.

UAC is a pain in the butt (turned mine off in less than 3 days), some older apps don't like vista, or so vista says, but might run anyway despite what vista warns about,  ancient hardware won't have drivers, and make sure you have plenty of memory, 2gb seems to serve me well.  Otherwise, it's been stable, and pretty quick.  And I push it quite often doing development work.

There's a contradiction!

Wasn't UAC supposed to be the biggest reason to move to Vista?

Re: Ok any Vista Business users

I use Vista Ultimate on my main desktop, moved to it about 3 or 4 weeks ago. There are a lot of small changes that I am having trouble getting used to.

I find it to be a slower OS. I am running this on an X2 4400+ @ 2.4GHz with 2GB RAM, and it is still a little sluggish in comparison to XP. Sometimes it takes several seconds to open Firefox, which in XP was a split second operation. Hopefully the Business Edition is trimmed down more which allows it to be much snappier.

I do really like the built in Performance Analysis tools in Vista though. Huge improvement over XP. It's really cool to be able to slice and dice with more power. I look forward to having that at work when we start supporting Vista for our software.

No contradiction, UAC isn't buggy, but it's a pain.  I guess it depends on how you use your computer and what you expect of it.  For everyday stuff, UAC doesn't really get in the way, but I do alot of development work and other stuff that involves getting into stuff that UAC intervenes with by default.  UAC is on the wife's machine, and she almost never sees it at all.
