Name That Tune!
 (United States)

Rules are simple.  You must get the correct song title and artist.  You get it right, you provide the next tune.  If you can't for some reason, post and someone will .

Here's the start...

What?  Nobody even has a guess?  Well, if this one's too hard, I'll try another later tonight.

Re: Name That Tune!

I tried but I have no idea what that was.
Specially when you don't even know what type of music it could be.

Also I don't play my self so I can't put out the next tune,
maybe some others also have that concern.

But I suppose it would be possible to find something on the net.

It sounds a little like Sympathy for the Devil by the Rolling Stones, but it's missing the bass drum line.

"Allison" - Elvis Costello and the Attractions

Was the first one an extended version of a Supremes song.  I seem to remember a version of "Baby Love" from the "Where Did Our Love Go" album that had an extended percussion intro, but I am not sure that is the one.

Yay!  You got the second one.

The first one was Iko Iko by the Dixie Cups.

Your turn

I should have known that one. Very popular here in the New Orleans area, especially around Mardi Gras. Although, the version that we are used to here is the original by James "Sugar Boy" Crawford, written in New Orleans in 1954 as a Mardi Gras song, and originally titled "Jock-A-Mo". Lyrics from the song, such as " Iko Iko" and "Jock-A-Mo" are taken from Mardi Gras Indian chants, which are derived from Creole French. There, everything you never wanted to know about the song, "Iko Iko", LOL.

Doh I should have known that as well!  It's a song that everyone has heard at some point or another:

My grandma and your grandma were
Sit-tin' by the fire. - My grandma told
Your grandma: "I'm gonna set your flag on fire."--

Talk-in' 'bout, Hey now ! Hey now ! I-KO, I-KO, un-day
Jock-a-mo fee-no ai na-né. - Jock-a-mo fee na-né.-

Look at my king all dressed in red.-
I-KO, I-KO, un-day. I betcha five dollars he'll kill you dead.--
Jock-a-mo fee na-né

Talk-in' 'bout, Hey now ! Hey now ! I-KO, I-KO, un-day
Jock-a-mo fee-no ai na-né. - Jock-a-mo fee na-né.-

My flag boy and your flag boy were
sit-tin' by the fire. - My flag boy told
Your flag boy: "I'm gonna set your flag on fire."

Talk-in' 'bout, Hey now ! Hey now ! I-KO, I-KO, un-day
Jock-a-mo fee-no ai na-né. - Jock-a-mo fee na-né.-

See that guy all dressed in green ? -
I-KO, I-KO, un-day. He's not a man;
He's a lov-in' machine.--
Jock-a mo fee na-né.--

Talk-in' 'bout, Hey now ! Hey now ! I-KO, I-KO, un-day
Jock-a-mo fee-no ai na-né. - Jock-a-mo fee na-n

Well, the Dixie Cups were from NO.  Interesting story about that song.  They were messing around between takes, and started singing that song, playing the rythym with drumsticks on a glass ashtray, and the tape was still rolling.  The producer loved it, and later added a bass and drums and released the song, and that's the version that brought it to popularity.

Dr. John does a mean version of the song too, and it's been covered by many different artists including The Grateful Dead and Warren Zevon to name just two.

Crazee, It would help if you edited out the artist and song title so it doesn't show in Media Player .
