another Stone!

This time it's a kidney stone....

Man, those things are not to be taken lightly. About 5:30 PM last night, I started getting an abdominal paint on my lower right side, felt just like gas trying to pass, hurt like hell. I kept waiting for it to pass, and it moved pretty much to the center over the course of the next 6 hours. When I finally realized it wasn't getting any better, Laurie took me to the ER, where they put me pretty much at the top of the list. Couple hours later I had had an CAT scan, IV hooked up, with an IV feed of muscle relaxer, anti inflammatory, and some dilaudad.

That made me feel sooo much better, the pain stopped and I finally got an hour or two of sleep. Still waiting for it to pass, though. sad.gif

Conga-rats on your stone, Paul!

Oh, wait.  Condolences, man--I think I had a very small one two weeks ago, which dissolved quite nicely in a bath of cranberry juice (OK, cranberry-grape, but cran is the thing).

Hope they told you to drink gallons of it--there's an acid component that dissolves kidney stones; with any luck, it will get small enough to pass without major pain.

I got ya on the prayer lists at my church and world hq for my denomination

Oh man. Sorry to hear that. Drink a lot of beer, eat as much water melon as you can, take the worst bus you can find, and keep it as long as you can. When you feel like a water tower which wants to explode go to the most quest and most peaceful place of the world (you know thar small room with two '0' on its door) and let the things happen. The stone(s) should go away.

Get well!

Because some of you would have fun with it... wink.gif

There isn't any other forum to post it in, save for Ron's suggestion that it should have been  in Stat's N Stones forum...

In any event, it passed, and I'll post a pic once I take one, just for ya'll!
