Bummer. Of course they are still 40K behind us in combined RAC.

They will never overtake us in BOINC RAC, and if they hadn't got Lillian Gish to run Rosetta on his web servers, they would be well behind us in Rosetta. We could easily overtake them on the SETI front with the available optimized clients if we didn't have a lot of current resources on Rosetta. I like it the way it is now though. Recruiting is what we need to do now.

The thing is, they will never be a unified BOINC team where it's members can run any project they want under the bbr name. Anyone of our members could start a new team, (if a new project started up) under the tswb name and that would be cool with us.  That would never happen there!

Meh.  It's times to get some fresh blood in here like Kinguni said.

BTW, WE ARE TEAM STARFIRE.  :)

I take great pride in what we've accomplished in such a short time with so few members. And I would never trade a higher standing for the freedom to run the projects we want under a single team.

Kinguni is right, we need more members.

Meanwhile, my RAC took a major beating trying to get Boinc to work properly on Vista. (If I'm not too tired I'll start a thread on that topic.) While that's rising again, I'm working on another Conroe.

Re: We are in 11th place again :-(
 (United Kingdom)

It is the RAC that counts, not the total. It shows the world how dedicated and efficient our team is and that is why a Dictatorship can never beat a Democrasy.

Our boards not as active as theirs, but that is not because members have nothing to say, it's because we are busy crunchings and doing what this project is all about. A good stiff competition is helpful when it inspires members of teams to up production, especially if that increase is actually sustainable, short term gain for long term pain is no good to the individual, the team or the project to be honest.

I have switched all my machines over to the optimised clients, and anyone looking at the stats for the last few days will see the dramatic effect that has had. I do not know the number of members of TSWB who are using these optimised clients, but I certainly do encourage all to use them, my productions rates have gone up by some 40 to 60% depending on machine.

One of the main reasons this team is so great is our Founder...Ron (Kinguni) is the star of the show, yet again. His dedication and personable manner is what made us switch to TSWB, without Ron this team would simply no exist.

That's true but we cannot forget Xaak, Paul, uniquecp, and so many others (long list) that, with dedication and efforts, made it possible. And you Sparky Jim.

Well said kemp, and I'd like to thank Xaak, Paul, Ron, MikeC and more for giving us the site of our own, an IRC channel, the leadership and commradere.

Hey, can I run my servers under a female alias and be just like Lillian?

Sure! You can even pretend it's one computer that your son built for you.

Eh! I'm just a small part of the equation James. I don't consider that anyone who came here from the old team switched, it was simply a move of the old team to a new venue. We were Team Starfire then and we are Team Starfire now, the difference being that no one is trying to tell Team Starfire what they can or cannot run as a team.

Team Starfire will always exist, with or without me, but of course I ain't going nowhere.
