Work on the Astropulse project seems to have been advancing lately, with the release of the 4.12 client, new work available, and a forum for Astropulse on the Beta boards. I've attached to the project again, and will check it out for a bit.

I have an AP task. It may be stalled, it has gotten 2 hours of CPU time but is only 4% along. The last one I had, way back when, was probably shorter than an average enhanced task (I was expecting 6 to 10 hours run time on that host).

So it's the old SETIbeta account you have to attach to to get the Astropulse then I assume...

I'll do a few WUs but I must say I'm also not fond of extreamly long WU projects ...

An optimized app perhaps would be needed ...

I just did a couple, right under 4 hours on my main rig. Just glancing at the rest of the Seti wu's, looks like they normally take 1:20 to 2:30 apiece, so I guess they take roughly twice the time. IIRC, they are using the same recordings as SETI@Home, but analyzing them differently, I would hazard a guess that they may have the same variance of time completion that we normally have. Unsure of that, though.

An optimized app at this stage of development would be detrimental to the beta project, IMO. I'd like to see the project get off the ground with a ready for prime time application, before working on an optimized version.

Ok, I also did a few WUs and yes, the app is not good yet.

One WU well, I got loads of credit for it, but both the time it says it took crunching is wrong, it only took like 2 hours but the result page says over 32 hours and it couldn't been, I only installed it last night before bed.
