WU errors
(N/A) Modified By Bunky on 10/19/2006 8:25:58 PM)

Remember the 30 WU's I received today, well they are giving me computation errors.

Any ideas???

You only need two tools - WD-40 and Duct Tape. If it doesn't move and should, use the WD-40; if it shouldn't move and does, use the duct tape.

Re: WU errors

I'm not going to be much help but there's nothing on the Einstein boards about problem WU's. No one else has returned results on those WUs either so it's too early to tell if the problem is you or the WU.

Re: WU errors
 (N/A)

It took me a while but I did find something relevant.

Here: http://meanwhile.sourceforge.net/docs/api/0.4.2/mw__error_8h.html

where it says: "ERR_BAD_DATA = 0x80000007,"

Which seems to be indicating a data corruption error,

how ever if it is because of your computer or if it is a bad batch of WUs,

I don't know, it seems to be a very unusual error and nobody really knows a lot about it.

It's real strange because all the new WU's I'm getting from E@h are now 9 hrs + long, instead of an hours like the ones that had the computation error.   I'm running a optimizing program(See below), but it's never given me a problem before. I guess I need to dig deeper.

Thanks for your help.

Optimized Windows SETI@Home Enhanced application
Version info: Windows SSE 32-bit V5.15 'Chicken Good!' (R-1.3|+freq|xK)
Compiled by Simon Zadra (KWSN - Chicken of Angnor) - Member of the Knights who say Ni! (http://www.kwsn.net)

The optimized SETI application have nothing to do with the Einstein application, they have their own sub applications to BOINC,

also if you check in the ...Program files\BOINC\projects  folder you should see 2 different sub folders containing the applications for each project.

I know Einstein use to have a optimized app. earlier how ever, that was long time ago and WUs that are about 10 hours doesn't at all seem

that long, Einstein WUs are much longer than SETI WUs...

Now there's a thought! It's not like I'll lose anything when all my E@h projects are errors anyways.   lol

Thanks everyone

Actually if I was you I would detach and then Attach to the Einstein project again,

by that you would get a new accurate set of the Einstein application...

You haven't by any chance tried to put a SETI opt. app in the Einstein folder ?

According to here: http://einstein.phys.uwm.edu/hosts_user.php?userid=215130

your computer haven't been in contact with the Einstein server since 22 sept. over a month ago.

You could also trying to update the BOINC core client.

That's the wrong Bunky. This is the right one.
