News update from LHC!
 (United States)
FYI:

September 19, 2006
Apologies for recent problems - we are updating the server. If tests are successful, a new batch of jobs will be submitted this week.

Maybe I can finally show on the roster!

I hope that I can reattach to the project on time to get some work!

Re: News update from LHC!

My machine got 6 WUs starting at 12:34 pm CDT today, has crunched 4 of them (one was 19 seconds!), but none will upload.  They've apparently still not got their servers configured correctly.  Several people have complained of the same "upload failed" message on the LHC board.

They have a new project URL.  I couldn't get connection to the old url, so if you're having problems, try reattaching to http://lhcathome.cern.ch/lhcathome/

Re: News update from LHC!

All the WUs that I've gotten have gotten errors of one type or another back at "LHC central", either downloading, client error, or uploading.  It looks like the LHC guys completely borked this set of WUs.

Before my WUs started downloading, the "project name" in the messages tab of BOINC changed from upper case to lower case, so I think my client figured out something changed.  Since I've got a wad of WUs that indicate successful completion on my end, I'd rather not disconnect from the project.

My WUs finally uploaded in the middle of the night.  (Probably early morning for the LHC guys.)

One WU completed successfully, but we got 0 credit for it.

Re: News update from LHC!

I got 2 more WUs in the middle of the night.  Both computed "successfully", one won't upload and the other got a "computation error", so I get no credit.

Crunching for several hours and getting no credit is no good.  Plus, this hurts my E@H, since I don't get any of it done while this LHC stuff is grinding away on nothing.

Still none here. Maybe I should detach until the bugs are worked out again.

I would just like it to automatically merge the thousands of computers that it thinks I have attached.

Re: News update from LHC!

Nope... none of my boxes have picked anything up either... I forced a few to "update" and they all had proper communications with the server just ended with "No work from project" so I assume I either attached after the link change or it was updated automatically (proj name displays now as "lhcathome" instead of "LHC@home").  Either the new batch was tiny or the tests were less than successful.  Was hoping to show on the roster this weekend

I think no news was actually better for LHC@home than what's going on with it now.
