BOINC 5.10.45

BOINC 5.10.45 is now the new stable release for all platforms.

This release is a bug fix release which includes fixes for better proxy
support through the use of the <force_auth> configuration option in
cc_config.xml which is defined here:

This release also contains fixes for startup/shutdown issues when
running on Windows Vista.

I just put 5.10.30 on a new laptop I picked up. It's running great on Vista. I need to upgrade all my computers. Believe it or not I'm still running 5.8.8 on all my systems except my my Laptop. They are still crunching out some good numbers!

It has been my experience that folks who have no vices have very few virtues

Looks like next up is a major rollout of 6.1.10, the Development version has been released for Mac OS X. Downloads here- http://boinc.berkeley.edu/download_all.php

Will look into it and report...

ok, from the BOINC mailing list, by Charlie Fenton:

I have posted BOINC 6.1.10 for the Macintosh to the alpha download page.

Here you go, folks: the long-awaited first full alpha release of version 6 on the Macintosh for your testing pleasure! This one is for the Mac; Rom is still working on a Windows problem, but expects to release version 6.1.10 for Windows and Linux very soon.

Changes from 5.10.x are too numerous to list, but include full multiple selection support on the Grid Views.

There is a lot of new stuff here, so please test thoroughly. Thanks!

Please note: as of version 6, BOINC for the Mac now requires at least OS 10.3.9.
