Looks very interesting!

Probably the thing that interested me the most is that Michella and Andre are running it. They were the ones running predictor back when it was the best run project out there.

This one looks very interesting.  Let us know when account creation is re-enabled.

Pirates@home test project (the Einstien screensaver was developed here) invitation code required: http://pirates.spy-hill.net/team_display.php?teamid=549

I had no problem attaching to Pirates without invitation code. No work at the moment however.

Pirates is not a high work availablity project. It was probably the 4th project I joined and has always had a normal project resource share on my systems. Yet I still have a very low total credit on it.

My only concern is if it goes too long without work. LHC did that and that caused problems with Einstein and Rosetta running on the same box.

Re: BOINC alpha test & other alpha projects

I think that problem will be fixed in the 5.6.x client when released, the client should keep at least your connect frequency on hand from somewhere no matter how lopsided your LTD. While I'm on the subject the 5.6.x client looks to be the best release in a long time. The poxy problems seem to finaly be fixed so most participants that have been stuck with a 4.xx client should finally be able to catch up with the times. The CPU scheduler has been changed to switch tasks at checkpoints whenever possible and change tasks independantly on multi-CPU hosts. This feature has improved my output approximately 20% (~800 RAC before, ~1100 now (subtract ~100 for a new host)). So I consider it almost a required upgrade if you run multiple projects or multiple CPUs.

5.6.3 has been in testing for almost 2 weeks and may be considered good enough for release. There are 3 major bugs listed however at least one and maybe 2 of them seem to be problems caused by that nasty 5.6.2 that carried over.
