TSWB Skin for BOINC version 5.8.8
(United States) Modified By boog on 2/3/2007 4:15:46 PM)
As seen over here. Boinc version 5.8.8 has been released, and it supports skins for it's simple view. If you don't have it yet, check it out http://boinc.berkeley.edu/download.php

I made a new skin for it featuring us! give it a try! Let me know what you think and if you find any misspellings or problems with it.

To install it you need to make a folder called Skins in the BOINC folder then unzip this folder into it (should be named TSWB).

Edit: See post below.

There's probably nothing that I do that ever makes it out of beta. I get too excited to give it away.

Can also look at the BOINC skin download center for other skins. Anyone can download but you have to register to upload.

I also made an own skin,

I think there may be as many skins as there are users eventually

How ever I noticed that if you want to change all pictures you have to modify even the ones in the "... \BOINC\projects\setiathome.berkeley.edu" folder

Also very often you get a double icon on the sys-tray bar... a bug...

Re: TSWB Skin for BOINC version 5.8.8

How ever I noticed some things that are well, not that good.

For the first on dual CPUs (HT or Core2Duo PCs) the simple view only shows one WU, not both.

Also if you run many projects you can't modify more than the SETI project icon and the default project icon,

so you can only have 2 different icons in the view, not as many as you have projects...

If anyone knows how to solve any of these issues, please let me know !

I finally figured out how to change the color of the tabs where each project is so I updated the marble and the default skins

I have the same problem on two of my systems.  I only upgraded three systems since they were having some problems with 5.8.8 and one out of three shows two WU's in work.  It's just another bug they will have to work out.

Crystallize I figured out why it just shows one WU.  If you have other WU's that have been preempted the it shows just one.  Use the small arrows at the top right and you can move through all WU's active and preempted.

Hm... I don't think I have any WUs "preempted "..

I have a few WUs "Waiting to run" and some suspended but most are just "waiting to run"
But I suppose you mean those "Waiting to run" as "preempted " how ever I don't have any WUs

preempted  at the computer at work and that is a HT PC runing 2 WUs at the time and it still only shows 1 WU

in the simple view, actually I have never gotten it to show more than 1 WU on any system.

Also I don't understand what you mean with "those small arrows" I certainly don't have any

small arrows in either simple or advanced view...
