Ever since I switched to Vista(clean install) on my laptop, it no longer pauses crunching when I'm working on it. I installed as a service, as I always do, and I set it to logon as "local system account" and "allow service to interact with desktop". Also, it makes no difference whether Boinc manger is running or not. I also tried using the local preferences in boinc manager, but still nothing. What's up? Is it Vista?

Seems to me you might need to manually edit global_prefs.xml, or attach to a second project like Rosetta and set your preferences there. Hopefulluy John Keck can chime in and shed some light though.

Edit: I wonder if you should try the latest beta?

It is probably vista, since it looks like you have tried everything I would suggest. While I have not seen this report before, there have been numerous vista related problems. There have been some recent checkins that should reduce problems with vista, they should be in the 5.9.4 client. Do not use the 5.9.3 client, it has some serious problems of it's own.
