My Athlon XP1700+ (Mobo Asus a7n8x-x, 512Mb RAM) does not fit, actually, the requirements that I'm going to need at school next semester - Here comes Practice - Linux Fedora and Open Office, Windows Server 2003 and Microsoft Office, Windows XP Pro, Virtual Machine, Java, Pearl, Samba etc - everything running smooth.

... and BOINC, for sure! :D

Then, I need a new machine to achieve the goals and a little help from you guys.

Intel is the way, nowadays. Power $aving, be$t performance, blah blah blah...

If you have Intel system parts to sell, let me know.
And if it's for free, better yet.

What I'm searching for:

CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo (entry - minimal level -  higher it's better)
Mobo: that fits that CPU with SATA and IDE (2 or 4 SATA > better)
Memory: DDR2-800 1G x1 sounds good or 512Mb x2 looks better for Dual
GPU: 1  (one) PCI-X - don't need that much, but I like it
SATA HD > 150Gb

I have a PSU Seventeam 420W ST420BKV, ATX2.0 2x12v. Maybe it's going to supply the new system.

I've got a Gigabyte 965 S3 motherboard with a Core2 4400 I just took out of service, you're welcome to have. PM me your new address and I'll get it out to you.

Maybe have 2x512 Ballistix I could toss in there, too, waiting for some to come back from RMA.
