Need some help troubleshooting
 (United States)

Just got home with a new graphics card, put it in and everything was smooth sailing for about 2 hours.  Then my machine blue-screened and now it won't start.  Won't even post and let me get into BIOS, no beep codes to help me troubleshoot.  It spins up all the fans in the case - including the HSF - then it just dies.

Any idea what could be causing this?  Only thing I can think of is reseating the CPU - but why would I need to do that when I never touched the thing today?

Thanks for any advice.

test your power supply...it might of let the smoke out...if the videocard was a big beefy one...and you have a low wattage PSU

620W?  GTX 260, replacing a GT8600.

Reseated the video card.  No luck.  I guess I'll try to reseat the CPU/HSF.  I don't think it's the PS - if it were dead, it wouldn't still be spinning up all the fans, right?  Hmm...  weird that it ran for an hour or so and then died.  I guess it all points to a dead PS.  Hmm...

Thanks for the reply azor.  Old Jack is still on the case.

She's back up and running.  Unplugged the power, cleared CMOS, seems to have resolved whatever it didn't like.  Weird...

Glad you got it working again! Nothing worse than a downed cruncher.
